Areas of Refuge Emergency Phones

Areas of Refuge or, as they are also known, Areas of Rescue, are designated meeting points within a building where disabled persons or anyone unable to evacuate are to gather to await assistance or rescue. These Areas of Refuge are generally prescribed by various state and local codes and usually enforced by the fire marshal.

Kings III’s Area of Refuge security phone systems provide a means for persons using the Area of Refuge to notify emergency responders of their presence and need for assistance.

In a typical implementation, one of these ADA compliant emergency phones would be installed in each Area of Refuge. With the Turnkey Solution, Kings III monitoring personnel would notify emergency dispatchers of the need for assistance in evacuating the building. All of these calls would be recorded for your protection. Alternatively, your guards at their guard station could answer these help phones. However, keep in mind that your guards are likely to be involved in handling the emergency and may not be at their station to answer the call from the Area of Refuge emergency phone.
Turnkey at Half the Cost
Kings III provides its Turnkey Solution package to property managers, owners, and government agencies. One fee covers all the necessary equipment, installation, monitoring, and maintenance services for the emergency phones, while you save up to 50% every month over other code-compliant systems.

24-Hour Reliability
Our monitoring station utilizes back-up electrical generators and complete off-site redundancy to ensure calls are properly received, recorded, and dispatched without interruption. Kings III provides the Turnkey Solution, not just bits and pieces, so you’re assured of reliable integration.
