It’s the Law The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA 4.10.14) and ASME A17.1, A17.1a, A17.3 and IBC all require a two-way voice emergency communication system in most elevators. In addition these systems must be answered 24-hours a day at a location capable of dispatching help. The reality is that proper installation is required to produce a truly code-compliant elevator phone system. Practices such as installing more than one emergency phone on a single line, or programming them to call a number that is not answered 24-hours a day are examples of non-compliant systems. Using multiple vendors to comply can mean costly and poorly integrated technology. Patented Technology Special features, such as our patented phone dialer (patent #5,386,463) with line seizure, save you the cost of a dedicated phone line. This breakthrough technology seizes an existing phone line to call our 24-hour dispatch center whenever our elevator telephones are activated. Monitoring and Dispatch At our emergency call center the elevator phone user’s location is instantly displayed on the computer screen of one of our CPR trained operators who are skilled at handling emergency situations. These calls are digitally recorded and records of all actions are automatically stored for retrieval and review. Risk Management At your request, your property can be named as an Additional Insured under our combined $15 million liability and E & O policies. Our new CN-8 Call Negotiator gives the added security of a second phone line.
