The hardest location to secure in a building is the parking garage. Even with access gates and cameras it is nearly impossible to keep track of who is coming and going. The addition of visible ADA garage security telephones reduce the vulnerable feeling of tenants and their guests and increase parking safety. Sturdy, brightly colored call boxes and flashing strobes in landline or cellular models are designed for visibility and unsurpassed reliability.
Our only business is emergency phones. We manufacture, install, service and maintain what we sell nationwide. In addition, we offer 24-hour monitoring and dispatch for those who need this service. Our monitoring station utilizes back-up electrical generators and complete off-site redundancy to ensure calls are properly received, recorded and dispatched without interruption. Kings III provides the Turnkey Solution, not just bits and pieces, so you're assured of reliable integration, plus a significant savings of up to 50% every month.
In response to recent tragedies involving people trapped in stairwells while evacuating fire emergencies, municipalities are adopting new ordinances requiring emergency communication systems. People who are unable to reach a first floor stairwell exit or an area of refuge can utilize these ADA emergency phones to summon help. Security practice generally keeps stairwell doors locked from the stairwell side on all upper floors. These locked doors can create traps. Since keeping stairwell doors unlocked at all times in order to avoid these traps is an unacceptable security compromise, Kings III has developed a solution to avoid stairwell entrapment. Our stairwell phones instantly connect a trapped party to the guard station so that help can be sent.
Our phones can also be combined with our door release mechanism for magnetic locks or door strikes that allow doors to be opened. We provide this monitoring and door release system under our Stairwell Emergency Turnkey Solution agreement. The system can also be purchased separately and monitored by building security. Either way, daily issues of security and safety of tenants during an evacuation are reconciled.
Also known as Area of Rescue, these are designated meeting places within a building where disabled persons or anyone unable to evacuate gather to await assistance or rescue. These areas are generally prescribed by various state and local codes and usually enforced by the fire marshal. Kings III's area of refuge security phone system provides a means for a person using an area of refuge to notify emergency responders to their presence.
In a typical situation one of these ADA compliant emergency phones would be located in each area of refuge. At Kings III's 24-hour emergency call center, one of our CPR trained operators would take the call. Emergency dispatchers would be notified of the need for assistance with evacuation. These calls are digitally recorded and records of all actions are automatically stored for retrieval and review. Or, if you prefer, building guards could answer these calls at their stations. However, in the event of a real emergency, keep in mind that guards might be involved in handling the emergency and not be at their stations.
