In addition to the successful testing of our emergency elevator phones during the Active Shooter drill, I wanted to make you aware of a second incident that also happened on Saturday during our full building electrical shut down, which was planned in advance to shut down at 2:00PM. One of our tenants was still in the building and stepped into the elevator. The lights flickered and once the doors closed, she was stuck. She was able to use the emergency phone and called the dispatcher, who then called our security guard, who then notified our engineer to restore power so we could bring the elevator to the ground floor. All this occurred in less than 15 minutes. Not only did the system work wonderfully, we also discovered that it works when there is no power to the building! Yay for both!! If we did not have this system in place, our tenant could have been stuck in the elevator for several hours (if she had her cell, she may have had to call 911 which would have wasted valuable first responder resources to make a trip to the building.) Just wanted you to be aware of how pleased we are of this fabulous system you and your team installed for our building!
