JOSEPH TARANGO
Emergency Dispatch Center OperatorHow does your role help support building safety and emergency communication at Kings III?
As an emergency dispatcher, I play a critical role in ensuring building safety and facilitating effective emergency communication. I respond to calls swiftly and accurately—gathering key details, assessing the situation, and coordinating with the appropriate emergency services. Each interaction requires calm focus, quick thinking, and strict adherence to protocol to ensure the best possible outcome for the caller.
What motivates you to be part of a team that prioritizes protecting people and property?
What motivates me most is knowing that the work I do has a real and immediate impact on someone’s life. Every call I take is someone reaching out for help and I’m the first voice they hear. That responsibility drives me. Being part of a team that prioritizes protection, safety, and service gives my work meaning. I take pride in knowing that what I do doesn’t just resolve emergencies—it provides reassurance, prevents harm, and helps people feel safer in the places they live, work, and visit.
KYLE ORSBURN
Partner Channel ManagerHow does your role help support building safety and emergency communication at Kings III?
In my role, I have the unique opportunity to engage with customers and properties across all 50 states through our national network of partners—primarily technology and telecom providers. Each partnership plays a key role in elevating building and tenant safety, reducing risk and liability, and delivering cost-effective solutions. While the value we bring may vary by customer, our expansive partner network helps us extend Kings III’s life safety mission nationwide.
What motivates you to be part of a team that prioritizes protecting people and property?
Knowing that I’m part of a company whose entire purpose is to help—and in many cases, save—lives is the most motivating factor there is. It’s incredibly rewarding to work for an organization where our impact is real and immediate. What makes it even more powerful is that Kings III is the only company in the U.S. doing what we do in the way that we do it. That responsibility fuels me every day. One stat that has stuck with me since day one: nearly 50% of emergency phones in the U.S. aren’t functional —and we’re here to change that.
RAYSENE TYLER
Install CoordinatorHow does your role help support building safety and emergency communication at Kings III?
As an Install Coordinator, my role supports building safety by making sure our technicians are set up for a safe and successful installation. One of the most important parts of that process is verifying that the site is ready for our team. Specifically, that there’s no active construction happening when we arrive. Sending a technician into a construction zone poses unnecessary risks and liability concerns, both for the tech and the property. While Install Coordinators like myself may not be on-site, we play a key role behind the scenes, communicating with customers, confirming readiness, and helping ensure every job starts off on a safe foundation.
What motivates you to be part of a team that prioritizes protecting people and property?
I was once trapped in an elevator where the emergency phone failed to connect. Thankfully, I had my cell phone and was able to call for help but that experience stuck with me. It made me realize how critical reliable emergency communication truly is. Not everyone will have another way to reach help in a moment of crisis. That’s what drives me in my role every day—to make sure our systems are in place, working, and ready when they’re needed most. It’s not just a job—it’s about making sure no one else is left in that situation without a way to call for help.
SCOTT GAY
CabView Product SpecialistHow does your role help support building safety and emergency communication at Kings III?
In my role on the Technical Support team, I assist with everything from Kings III–manufactured equipment to customer-owned systems and the integration of our new Video Messaging Systems (VMS) hardware. Whether I’m troubleshooting a non-working phone or guiding a technician through an installation, my focus is making sure our emergency communication systems are fully operational and code-compliant. The addition of VMS technology is especially impactful because it allows us to provide critical help even when the caller can’t hear us or the audio fails. This ensures we’re meeting a broader range of accessibility needs while continuing to deliver the high safety standards Kings III is known for.
What motivates you to be part of a team that prioritizes protecting people and property?
My motivation comes from a genuine desire to help and serve others. While I may not be the one answering emergency calls, I take pride in knowing that the work I do directly supports those on the front lines. At Kings III, every department plays a part in a larger mission; protecting people and ensuring help is there when it’s needed most. Being part of a team that shares that commitment gives real purpose to the work we do each day.
Because Protection Doesn’t Clock Out.
Welcome to the final week of Building Safety Month, led by the International Code Council, and this week we are showcasing the theme of “Going Into Overtime.”
At Kings III, we know safety doesn’t clock out. As we look toward the future, we’re advancing the next era of emergency communication with smart, code-compliant solutions like our CabView elevator video monitoring system, designed to meet new mandates and enhance accessibility for all passengers.
